Why 8/10 Employees Experience Burnout - and what to do about it 
 
 
In 2019 the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared burnout an occupational phenomenon. It defines burnout as a “syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed”. And describes three main dimensions: 
 
Feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion 
Increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job 
Reduced professional efficacy
